Claire Holzer
Passionate about literature and poetry, Claire Holzer found in scenography a way to write words in space and to broaden the possible poetic fields: she studied sculpture applied to stage space at the prestigious Olivier de Serres – ENSAAMA school in Paris.
The discovery of the new circus led her to design the first educational support for artistic teaching in contemporary circus schools in partnership with the CNAC and the Enacr of Rosny-sous-bois. Her collaboration with circus companies as an external perspective has continued to this day.
She went to live in Italy in 2007, which led her to direct a European research project on scenography and its techniques from 2015 to 2020 in partnership with the Pergola theater in Florence.
She designed and made puppets for Jean-Philippe Desrousseaux and regularly collaborates with dancers, specifically to develop the dance-drawing link. To this end, she has been working for several years with Sébastien Durand, a former dancer with the Preljocaj company.
She is currently working on the scenography of Kassandra for the company "Nice to meet you", putting Clément Althaus' ideas into space, drawing for the communication on the latter's plays and for the films of the director and actor Helmi Dridi.
A major in CAPLP and CAPET métiers d'art and then an associate professor of National Education, she teaches sculpture and scenography at the Olivier de Serres – ENSAAMA school in a unique course in France and created within this establishment the only Higher Diploma in Artistic Crafts in 2012.
An experienced dancer, she loves a kind of theatre that gives pride of place to the relationship with the body and the quality of the text.
